Kids Fishing Class

Join a park ranger for an interactive fishing program! Learn how to tie knots, casting skills with a game of back yard bass, and fish identification, and then try the real thing on the docks. Fishing poles along with other supplies are available for kids to use free of charge. Supplies are limited; reserve yours by calling the ranger station at 863-696-1112. Camper Coffee

Start your morning with friends, a cup of coffee and pastry. See what's happening in the park for the week. Join other campers, park visitors and volunteers for coffee, tea and pastries provided by Oscar Scherer's volunteers. Meet new friends, learn about the parks and enjoy your cup of coffee.

Pancake Breakfast With A Ranger

Wake up early for a breakfast in the park. Pancakes (blueberry or plain), sausage, coffee, tea and orange juice served by Oscar's park volunteers. A park ranger will be available from 8:30 to 9 a.m. for questions and information about the park.

This popular annual series this year will be a hybrid event, which can be attended in person or online.

Ryan Hess, Biologist III with The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, manages terrestrial habitat for rare and endangered species of the Florida Keys. He will discuss some of the plants found in the ecosystems of South Florida, their origins, and the roles they have in the health of our environment.

Sunset Meditation

Join a park ranger for a sunset meditation on South Beach.

Connect with your senses to relax, get centered, and improve your sense of calm and peace. Both guided and quiet meditation practices will be offered. All levels welcome. The meditation will be held on the sand with no equipment provided, so please bring water and a mat, towel, chair, etc. to sit on.
