The beach is home to a diversity of animals that all depend on a clean Beach. Help us Celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day at William J. "Billy Joe" Rish Recreation Area by helping to remove litter from the state park beach. Wear work clothes and shoes; bring a water bottle. All ages welcome!

Catch a creepy-crawly in action? Mark it on your card! Your mission: find five nature items in a row—across, down, or diagonally—to win! Bring your winning card to the Ranger Station to claim a cool prize! But hurry—only the first 30 nature explorers will score one. Pick up your Nature Bingo card at the Ranger Station and let the adventure begin. It's fun, it's free, and it's the perfect way to explore the wonders of the park! Experience the sights, smells and sounds of cooking on a wood-burning stove in the kitchen where Cross Creek Cookery was developed! This event will provide visitors a chance to see our stove in action as staff and volunteers prepare delicious dishes.
Historic House Tours, except the 1 PM tour, will be limited to twelve people each on Wood Stove Cooking days. A sign-up sheet will be available in-person day-of. All guests will be given a chance to visit the dining room and kitchen in small groups between 10:30 AM and 1 PM. The 1 PM Historic House tour will be conducted as a walk-through tour.
