March is Florida Biking Month
If you're thinking about "gearing up" for spring break, dust off your bicycle and find a trail near you!
Cycling on the Van Fleet State Trail
Cycling is very popular at the General James A. Van Fleet State Trail, which is noted for being one of Florida’s most rural trails. Along this state trail are many beautiful vistas, including open cattle land, protected forests and wetlands.
Hiking, Horseback Riding & Bicycling Trails
On the trails of St. Marks River Preserve State Park, outdoor enthusiasts or casual explorers can enjoy unique and amazing wilderness hiking, off-road bicycling, and horseback riding opportunities.
Greenways and Connectivity
Price’s Scrub State Park plays a role in the proposed connection of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park/Lochloosa Wildlife Conservation Area to the Goethe State Forest and helps the proposed connection to the Cross Florida Greenway.
Cycling on the Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail
Enjoy the day exploring the small communities along this 19-mile multiuse trail or connect to a larger trail system and take an epic journey.
Explore by bike
With a paved surface, test your endurance or choose to slow down and appreciate the numerous sites along the way.
Bike the Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail
One of the newer trails in the state park system, the Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail consists of 47 planned miles of paved path. Walkers, runners, cyclists, pets and inline skaters are welcome on this trail that will eventually stretch to the town of Palatka (and possibly farther) along the old Norfolk Southern Railroad track.
