Country and rock musician Malachi Jaggers is returning for his third performance at Highlands Hammock. This singer, songwriter, recording artist and producer who grew up in Indiana forges his own brand of Americana music and connects with his audiences on a deeply human level. Jaggers tells heartwarming stories which evoke nostalgic feelings of historic family ties, railroads and the wide, open prairies of the American heartland. Naturally gifted, he began playing music at the age of four and learned to play guitar, drums, bass, ukulele, piano and harmonica! He formed a garage band when he was only 14. With a candor rarely found in modern music, he pulls lyrics from personal experiences, often experimenting with production techniques to create his signature organic indie folk sound. His single 'An American Hero,' which was up for consideration on the Grammy ballot in 2022, weaves an anthem dedicated to veterans who sacrificed their lives. The song was inspired by his grandfather, who worked on the railroad and served in the Navy during World War II. In addition to performing his own work, he also covers the music from other artists including Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Mellencamp, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more. Check him out at https://malachijaggers.com.
Bring blankets, lawn chairs and flashlights and enjoy an evening of music under the stars! Food and refreshments are provided by food vendors and the Hammock Inn. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not permitted. The Music in the Park concert series is sponsored by the Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park. Proceeds benefit park improvements.

Musical influences are many and include the following: Jimmy Buffet, Zac Brown and his country music band, Stick Figure, an American Reggae band from Southern California, blues, rock-in-roll, and Southern and classic rock.
