Bicycling
Bicycling

Bicycling is available along the fire line loop trail (approximately 8.7 miles). The trail is not improved, so use caution. Florida law requires helmets for cyclists age 16 and under, and helmets are highly recommended for all cyclists. 

Picnic tables are located at approximately 1-mile intervals along the trail. 

Birding
Birding

Visitors can spot a variety of birds at Shoal River Headwaters State Park, including owls, pileated woodpeckers, red-headed woodpeckers, blue jays, Eastern bluebirds, swallow-tailed kites, bald eagles, turkeys, bobwhite quail and red-shouldered hawks. 

Hiking
Hiking

Hiking trails within the park are available on the fire line loop trail (approximately 8.7 miles). This trail is not improved, so use caution. Picnic tables are located at approximately 1-mile intervals along the trail.

Four picnic tables are available at the parking area and additional picnic tables are located at approximately 1-mile intervals along the trail.

Shoal River Headwaters State Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, skunks, turkeys, snakes and gopher tortoises.
