Wildlife Walk at Yellow River Marsh
At Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park, we have a significant amount of natural resources and an array of habitats that support a wide variety of wildlife species. Included in the extensive list are flatwood salamanders, frogs, wet prairie sparrows, loggerhead shrikes, red-shouldered hawks, Cooper’s hawks, great blue herons, cottonmouths, Eastern diamond back rattlesnakes and gray foxes.
There are nearly 20 species of rare and endangered plants and animals that inhabit the park.
As you explore the park, listen to the birds serenading you and breathe in the fresh wilderness air. A hike throughout the park will truly rejuvenate your spirit and bring you a sense of happiness and peace.
A walk along the preserve trail provides the opportunity to see the signature wet prairie community. Keep your eyes peeled and you may catch a glimpse of the incredible wildlife. Make sure that you bring a camera to capture the amazing scenery and save the memory forever.
