Gary Ellison
Gary Ellison is the recipient of the 2022 Adult Volunteer of Year Award for Maintenance.
As a retired diesel mechanic, Gary Ellison has a vast array of knowledge about equipment repair and maintenance. He has saved the park thousands of dollars with his know-how and hard work. He performs routine, preventative and corrective maintenance on every piece of equipment in the park, from small engines like chainsaws and weed eaters to UTVs, trucks, tractors and tractor implements. If it has an engine, Gary can work on it!
Gary personifies an old-school work ethic. Typically, he is first to arrive in the morning. When he is not working on a mechanical project, Gary is still always doing something productive. He is also great at operating a tractor and is a master firewood collector!
Gary’s mechanical skills are valued at Colt Creek State Park. Thank you, Gary.
