Volunteer Spotlight, Dave Wolfe

Dave Wolfe stands in the Hammock at Lignumvitae Key

Since January 2023, Dave Wolfe has contributed over 400 volunteer hours to Islamorada Area State Parks, becoming a reliable and passionate member of our team. Despite working full-time, Dave volunteers regularly at all four parks in the Islamorada Area: Indian Key Historic State Park, Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park, Windley Key Fossil Reef State Park and San Pedro Archaeological Preserve State Park. He is always ready to assist with any task no matter the challenge.

Dave’s volunteer efforts focus on protecting and caring for the parks' natural resources. He has participated in numerous resource management projects, including buoy maintenance, seagrass restoration, marine debris cleanups, butterfly surveys and invasive plant removal. Beyond his fieldwork, Dave is a friendly and knowledgeable presence at outreach events, helping to promote the parks within the local community.

His sincerity, versatility and dedication make him an invaluable part of our park family. We are proud to recognize Dave Wolfe as one of our Volunteer Spotlights.
