In 1738, Fort Mose was established through the strength and determination of those who sought freedom and opportunity. Nearly 300 years later, in 2025, our community once again came together, completing the reconstruction of the fort to honor its legacy. This park is more than a historical site, it’s a living symbol of resilience, unity and progress.
Whether you’re walking through for the first time or returning to reconnect, we hope Fort Mose sparks reflection and appreciation for the many stories that are part of Florida’s history.
