Welcome! This is a great time to visit Fort Mose Historic State Park.
We offer a soothing getaway from the sun, whether indoors in the air-conditioned visitor center or outdoors under our gorgeous shade trees. The visitor center offers interactive displays that tell the story of the first legally sanctioned free African settlement. The visitor center is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
It's a great time of year to view the wildlife from the boardwalk that overlooks the marsh or maybe have a picnic lunch at the pavilion.
