Spring has sprung and Forest Capital Museum is feeling brand new! The Cracker House farmstead and the yard have been reopened for visitation following a year-long refurbishment and restoration project. Come out and explore the grounds while the temperatures are still mild.
Our museum is open to visitors and highlights the history of the timber industry in Florida. The dioramas alone are worth the visit, and we challenge you to find the skunk in the display depicting the turpentine operations in the Florida scrub.
Come out and stroll the grounds under the pines, enjoy a picnic at the pavilions, or bring the kids to spend some time on the playground. Call the park office for more details on reserving a pavilion for family gatherings or special events. The park is open Thursday through Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The park is closed Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
