Welcome to Egmont Key State Park! During your visit, you are likely to find your own slice of solitude sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. Although the historic nature of Egmont Key is a main attraction, the beautiful blue green waters will keep you coming back for more. If you dare to venture out snorkeling, keep your eyes open for the beautiful sea life that inhabits the ruins of gun batteries that have sunk into the sea. Beachcombers can find lots of shells and teh occassional sharks tooth on the island. History buffs can enjoy walking the brick roads of what was once Fort Dade. Three remaining gun batteries are also their to explore. Thousands of shorebirds nest on the island each year. We ask that you observe them from a distance. The south end of the island is a US Fish and Wildlife Refuge and access in prohibited.

DUE TO THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THIS ISLAND, PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY PORTION OF EGMONT KEY.
