As cooler weather arrives at Ichetucknee Springs, I look forward to one of my favorite activities which is taking a leisurely canoe trip down the river and seeing all the fall colors and migrating birds.  The cooler mornings give way to warm afternoons that make any activity at Ichetucknee Springs more enjoyable.

I can think of no better place to spend a day with family and friends than Ichetucknee Springs.  Whether you enjoy swimming, tubing, canoe/kayak, hiking or a family picnic, the fall weather across North Florida is perfect for any outdoor activity.

As you enjoy your visit, please take a moment to view the river from our north launch, and listen to the sounds.  You may hear turtles plopping into the river, or birds singing, and children playing the headspring.  These are the same sounds that people witnessed here 8,000 years ago!  It’s incredible to imagine that this precious resource has existed for so many years!  I am very proud to be part of an agency that is dedicated to ensuring that this resource will be protected for future generations to enjoy.

Tubing is available from our South Main Entrance year-round. The water temperature stays 72 degrees and crystal-clear year-round. Tubing will be available from the north main entrance starting Memorial Day Weekend. Enjoy the full 3 ½ hour float down the river as you drift through pristine ecosystems filled with wildlife. One of my favorite activities is tubing from our Midpoint launch located at our south main entrance. Some of the best scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities are between midpoint and the south takeout area. Our park concessionaire offers tube rentals for your convenience. Visitors are welcome to bring their own tubes or rent from an outside tube vendor. Tram and shuttle services are available. Please call Cape Leisure Ichetucknee at 386-497-1500 for more information.

  • Paddling Adventures rents canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards from the Boat House year-round (located at the North Entrance by the canoe launch). Please call Paddling Adventures at 386-497-1113 for more information.
  • Grills and picnic tables are available at the north and south entrances for a family picnic after your swim or tubing trip. Covered pavilions are available at our south main entrance for family gatherings. There’s a lot of activities available for everyone to enjoy.
  • The park is centrally located for day trips from Lafayette Blue Springs State Park, O’Leno State Park and Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. Camp at neighboring State Parks and come visit us for a day trip.
