Jessica Cabral, Park Manager

A perfect spot to relax, explore, and connect with nature.

As the manager of this beautiful park, I’m thrilled to share with you all the amazing experiences waiting for you here in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park offers something for everyone, from outdoor enthusiasts to families looking for a day of fun. Nestled between the Intercoastal Waterway and Fort Lauderdale Beach, our park features a variety of amenities that make it a perfect spot to relax, explore and connect with nature.

Drive, walk, jog, skate, or bicycle through rare maritime hammock and along the waterfront on our two-mile loop road. Hike nature trails and discover the native plants and wildlife that call the park home. Rent a canoe or kayak, and enjoy a leisurely paddle on Long Lake or explore the grounds on a bicycle-built-for-two. And once you’ve built up an appetite, the Grill at the Grove serves up delicious food and beverages with an ocean view.

For families, we have two playgrounds for the little ones to enjoy, and pavilions and barbecue grills perfect for picnics and group gatherings. The Garden Center, nestled in a lush tropical oasis, can be also reserved for meetings and more formal occasions.

The park is rich in history, too. The Terramar Visitor Center offers fascinating insights into the history of Hugh Taylor Birch and the natural riches of the area.

Whether you’re here for a peaceful nature walk, a fun family outing or a chance to learn about the area's past, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park has it all!

We are proud to provide a space where history, nature and community come together, and we are dedicated to preserving this beautiful park for generations to come. We hope you have a chance to visit, unwind and make memories in our little haven by the beach.

We look forward to welcoming you!
