Kristin Ebersol, Park Manager

We hope you find joy in the simple pleasures of nature this season.

The lazy days of summer have settled upon Ochlockonee River State Park, inviting you to indulge in the simple joys of nature. The canopy of live oaks provides a cool refuge, and the gentle breeze from the river offers a respite from the summer heat. Whether you seek adventure or tranquility, our park has something to offer everyone.

Head down to the river's edge and dip your toes in the refreshing water, or put your boat in and meander through the scenic waterways. Summer brings an abundance of wildlife activity, and you might spot playful otters or curious turtles as you cruise along. If you prefer fishing, try your luck and see if you can reel in a feisty bass or sheepshead.

As the sun sets witness the magic of nocturnal creatures. Fireflies light up the trails like living stars, and the calls of owls and frogs create a symphony of nature's own making. It's a time to slow down and appreciate the wonders that come alive when the day transitions to night.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated staff and volunteers continue their conservation efforts, ensuring the park remains a haven for both wildlife and visitors.  Summer at Ochlockonee River State Park is a time of connection, adventure, and exploration. We are grateful for your continued support and hope you find joy in the simple pleasures of nature this season.
