David Baniak

Assistant Park Manager, David Baniak

David sets an example that everyone can aspire to reach.

Please join us in welcoming David Baniak as the newest member of the Collier-Seminole State Park team. David originally hails from Clarksville, Tennessee, but comes to us from the beautiful and popular Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, where he began his career as a park ranger in July 2020.

David was quickly promoted to park services specialist in the areas of volunteer management and interpretation. While at Delnor-Wiggins Pass, David helped in life saving efforts of a park visitor caught in the rough surf. He received the 2022 Florida Park Service Award of Valor for his efforts. In the same year David was honored with the District Park Ranger of the Year Award.

David has a decorated military background, serving his country with honor and pride in places such as Fort Campbell, Kentucky and two tours in Iraq. For his service in Iraq, David was presented a Purple Heart.

In the short time David has been at Collier-Seminole, he has gained the respect of his coworkers by engaging in open communication while motivating and leading by example. He is always willing to give a helping hand and continuously demonstrates  an enthusiastic and positive attitude.

In his off-time, David likes to spend time with his family exploring local attractions and discovering the diverse natural areas of nearby Ten Thousand Islands and Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. The sandy beaches of Marco Island and Naples are also Baniak Family favorites! When in the Naples area, be sure to stop by Collier-Seminole State Park, say hello to David and enjoy a hike on the Prairie Hammock Trail or bring your kayak for an enjoyable paddle down the Blackwater River.
