Sasha Craft, Park Manager
Welcome to Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park! Thank you for your interest in the park. Maclay Gardens is a historical gem located in the north region of Tallahassee. Our park consists of a recreation area, 11-mile trail system and 28 acres of historical gardens. We provide several recreational opportunities for park visitors, including kayak and mountain bike rentals. If you would like to spend a day paddling around Lake Hall or mountain biking on one of our trails, the park has everything you need! Contact the Park's Ranger Station 850-487-4556 for more information.
In addition to our recreational opportunities, we also host several programs and special events throughout the year. A current program I would like to highlight is Garden Yoga! This fun class is held every Tuesday in the Gardner’s Cottage during the summer months due to the heat. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, all experience levels are welcome. Be sure to bring a water bottle, towel and/or blanket, yoga mat and a smile. The class is from 5:45 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday. For more information on these events and more, please view our Park Events.
Interested in becoming involved with Maclay Gardens? We are always looking for volunteers to join our team! If you would like to help keep the gardens beautiful, work in the ranger station, help keep trails maintained, perform historical research and documentation or help in any other way, please contact volunteer coordinator Terri Messler at 850-245-2959. We have a number of positions available and training is provided.
The Friends of Maclay Gardens Inc. is our citizen support organization. This is a dedicated group of volunteers that you can become involved with! They generate support for Maclay Gardens through work projects, community relations, exhibits, fundraising activities, special events and educational activities. F
Again, thank you for your interest in Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. We hope to see you and your family in the park very soon!
