Hiking, Horseback Riding & Bicycling Trails

St. Marks River Preserve State Park is rich in cultural resources with 7 miles of beautiful multi-use trails that date back to the 1800s. 

The trails located on the fertile river land of the park run through a variety of scenic natural habitats consisting of an assortment of plant communities, including a floodplain forest, xeric hammock, flatwoods, sandhill and bay heads. They are mostly soft, dry and sandy trails, but be prepared for wet sections and low water crossings during the rainy months. The trails are marked and there is a map available as well as kiosks to refer to before embarking for the day on your hike or ride.

While out on the trails be prepared to see an amazing variety of wild animals going about their day in their natural habitat - photo opportunities will be all around you.

Horses for trail rides are not provided by the park. Plan to bring water for yourself and your horse along with other supplies for the day as there are currently no facilities along the trails. Space for parking trailers is located at the Tram Road trail head. Dogs are allowed on the park trails but they must be well-behaved and leashed at all times.
