Biking the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail

Bike path at Grassy Key

Imagine a beautiful sunny day, blue skies, warm breezes and no destination. You allow your feet to move the pedals, taking you past towering gumbo limbo trees, through mangroves so thick you can no longer see the road or along a beautiful beach where you can smell the saltiness of the ocean. You feel peaceful and relaxed, just what you came here looking for. The Overseas Heritage Trail has over 90 miles of paved bike path, allowing you to experience the Florida Keys from the seat of your bicycle.

Biking the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail is not only a great way to exercise but also a great way to reduce stress. Popular areas for biking along the Overseas Heritage Trail include Key Largo with 20 miles of continuous trail; Grassy Key where the trail wanders off behind the mangroves giving visitors a more secluded feel; Saddlebunch Keys where the water views surround you letting you feel as though you are on the ocean; and Key West where visitors have the option of riding parallel with the main road or taking a more scenic route past beautiful beaches where the ocean breezes and relaxed atmosphere make you wish you lived here.
