Description

Come enjoy free pancakes, coffee, and orange juice on a Thursday morning as prepared by our park staff and volunteers. This is a great opportunity to ask your burning questions about the park, such as how to become a ranger, how to volunteer, and more. Or, you can simply enjoy warm pancakes with the morning sounds of the Ichetucknee. The public is invited to join the fun anytime within this window. We want everyone to be able to enjoy their pancakes. If you require gluten-free pancakes or have any other food allergy concerns, please call 386-324-5001 or email caitlin.gonsiorek@floridadep.gov in advance so that we can be prepared. For families planning out their day, we have coloring sheets, a memory game, and a puzzle always available in our visitor center. The visitor center also has exhibits to explore and is the headquarters of our Junior Ranger program. Adjacent to the outside of the building is the start of our 0.5 mile loop, the Discovery Trail, where you may have the chance to see gopher tortoises. Immediately after this program is "Storytime & Hike with a Ranger". Coffee and pancakes are generously donated by the Friends of Ichetucknee Springs State Park. Representatives will be in attendance if you want to jump on this opportunity to become a "Friend" as well.
