Rainbow Springs State Park and the Friends of Rainbow Springs invite any and all curious adults interested in learning about a variety of topics such as gardening, native wildlife and pollinators, invasive exotic plants, local Florida history, protection of the River and watershed, the ground beneath your feet and so much more. The Adult Education Series are monthly talks given in a comfortable sit-down setting and will include presentations by local professionals, Master Gardeners, historians, Rainbow Springs State Park staff and volunteers and guest speakers from different occupations and backgrounds. There is something to learn for everyone.
Presentations will be given in a covered open-air pavilion that is ADA accessible.
Presentations will be approximately one to one and a half hours in length.
Arrive early to enjoy refreshments and to get a seat. Space is limited.
Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Rainbow Springs volunteer citizen support organization.

April Photo Contest @ Ravine Gardens State ParkWednesday, April 1, 2015 - 8:00am EDT to Thursday, April 30, 2015 - 4:00pm EDT

The Friends of Ravine Gardens are hosting a Photo Contest during the month of April! Bring your camera and explore the park to get the perfect shot. Photographs must be taken within Ravine Gardens State Park. A printed 8x10 photo must be submitted to the park and a digital copy (.jpg, .tif, .png format) must be emailed to RavineGardensStatePark@gmail.com by 4 p.m. on April 30th to qualify. Contestants must also complete a Photo Release Form upon entry. The top 3 photographs will receive prizes and all photographs will be displayed at the Friends of Ravine Gardens' 20th Anniversary Celebration on May 16th.
Photographs may be in color or black and white. Photographs may be either vertical or horizontal. Entry materials will not be returned.
Camper’s Campfire Program @ Wekiwa Springs State ParkSaturday, April 18, 2015 (All day)
Free to registered park campers.
Registered park campers are invited to join us on Saturday evenings, starting 30 minutes after sunset, at the amphitheater adjacent to the general camping area within the park for our Campfire Circle Programs.
The programs are presented by volunteers and park rangers on a wide range of topics suitable for people of all ages.

Come out to Washington Oaks to participate in our Photo of the Month contest every third Saturday of the month. Anytime on the third Saturday, a brochure with the month's assignment will be distributed at the Park Ranger Station. Photographers of all skill levels are then invited to interpret the monthly challenge and snap away. Participants have five days to submit up to two photos, along with the photo release form to WashingtonOaksphoto@gmail.com. A winner will be chosen by staff and volunteers and the winning photo will be displayed at our Visitor's Center.

Come join us for one of the nation’s largest events, the Great American Beach Clean-up. Show that you care about the marine environment by helping to keep it free of litter.
Participants will receive refreshments and giveaways.
Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
Community service hours will also be given to school aged participants.
