Wekiva Youth Camp is a residential nature camp for 3rd through 8th graders, sponsored by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) with the purpose of instilling a love and respect for the "Real" Florida in our youth, as well as a knowledge of nature, the importance of conservation and the protection of our environment.
Wekiva Youth Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Sea Turtle Awareness Program at John U. Lloyd Beach State Park
Join a Park Ranger every Wednesday and Friday evening during the months of June and July. The group will meet around a campfire at the Seagrape pavilion and learn about the existence of sea turtles in the past, present and future. Participants will be greeted by a friendly Park Ranger and will be allowed to browse through an assortment of sea turtle displays. Informational brochures will also be available.
Our program will include a Ranger talk and a 20-minute movie or power point presentation, followed by a question and answer period. While the visitors are viewing the video presentation a scout will set out in search of a nesting Loggerhead Sea Turtle.
A beach walk may be conducted only in accordance with guidelines established by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Park Service. Please call the park at (954) 924-3859 for details and additional information. Reservations are required regular park admission fees will apply.

Learn about the fish and other inhabitants of our near-shore reef through a presentation and discussion. After the program is over, participants will be instructed where to snorkel in the park. Bring your own snorkel equipment. A diver-down flag is required for snorkeling activities in the park and can be rented daily at the Beach Outfitters and Gift Shop. Join us for a few hours of sun and surf and help keep MacArthur Beach State Park clean. Beach cleanups help remove trash and dangerous debris which may injure sea turtles, shorebirds or other marine life. Participants will receive gloves and trash bags. Please bring a reusable water bottle, hat and sunscreen. Community service hours will be given to students upon request. Free entry into the park if assisting with the event.
