Sarah makes learning fun & easy so that everyone feels comfortable on their stand up paddleboard (SUP) before leaving the shore. She caters to the special needs of families and disabled individuals. Sea turtles are returning to nest and we are hoping for another record breaking season!  Last year between March and November we had a total of 1866 nests.  Participants for the sea turtle walks and talks must register for this program by going to the Friends of MacArthur Beach website, www.macarthurbeach.org.  the price is $10 per ticket and they are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by park staff.  Registration launches on May 26 at 9:00 a.m. and fills up quickly.  Walk schedule starts on June 1 and runs through July 24.  The walks are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except for June 26 and July 3.

Join park naturalists to learn a variety of tackle and fresh bait rigs, find out the best places to drop a line, and learn about the rules and regulations that pertain to game fishing in Southwest Florida. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

Join a Ranger for a one-hour guided walk along our moderately difficult, 1.5-mile hiking trail. Come out and enjoy a leisurely stroll through our rockland hammock and take in the flora and fauna of the Florida Keys. Along the way, you will gain an appreciation for the difficulties plants and animals face in the sub-tropical ecosystem.

Additional Information:

Bug spray, drinking water and closed-toed shoes or hiking boots are recommended.

The narrow trail limits the walk to twelve people, therefore reservations are recommended.
