Camper Coffee @ Myakka River State ParkWednesday, February 28, 2018 - 9:00am to 10:00am EST
There are no fees required to attend camper coffee, however donations to help cover the cost of refreshments and supplies are greatly appreciated. Any proceeds will go directly to the Friends of Myakka River to help protect, preserve and support Myakka River State Park.

This is a great time to come and visit with your fellow campers, meet our fantastic volunteers and rangers, and find out about all the great things that Myakka River State Park has to offer. See if you can stump the staff with a question about the park! We serve fresh, hot coffee, tea and treats provided by the Friends of Myakka River. Bring your mug and join in the camaraderie around the fire!
Camper Coffee is generally hosted at the rustic Log Pavilion located just north of the Ranger Station along the park drive.
We will be relocating camper coffee to the fire circle at Big Flats Campground while the Log Pavilion is closed for repairs for the following dates: 1/24/18, 1/31/18, 2/7/18, & 2/14/18.
Big Flats Campground is located three miles north of the Ranger Station near the lake area.
Guided Paddle (Or Walk) @ Oscar Scherer State ParkWednesday, February 28, 2018 - 9:00am to 10:30am EST
Paddle is free with camping or standard park entrance fee
Rentals are $10.70 / hour; $42.80 / day

Paddle along South Creek and learn about the park and the estuarine critters. Please register between 8:00am and 8:45am at the Ranger Station. May bring own vessel or rent one from the Ranger Station. Some paddling experience recommended as it is a group tour.
Note: South Creek is a tidal water, therefore if water is too shallow for a paddle, a walk will be offered instead.
Guided Nature Walk @ John D. MacArthur Beach State ParkWednesday, February 28, 2018 - 10:00am to 11:30am EST

Join us for a guided exploration of MacArthur Beach State Park daily at 10:00 a.m. Meet in front of the Park's Nature Center.
Bring a water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellant.
Gasparilla Island Beach Walk @ Gasparilla Island State ParkWednesday, February 28, 2018 - 10:00am to 11:00am EST
$3 per vehicle State Park entrance fee
Meet at the picnic pavilion next door to the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse. Join a Park Ranger to learn about the park’s coastal plants, animals, and a little local history too. The walk is approximately one-third mile and lasts about one hour. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, sunscreen and drinking water are recommended. All programs are weather dependent.
