April Photo Contest @ Ravine Gardens State Park

$5 fee to the Friends of Ravine Gardens.

The Friends of Ravine Gardens are hosting a Photo Contest during the month of April!  Bring your camera and explore the park to get the perfect shot.  Photographs must be taken within Ravine Gardens State Park.  A printed 8x10 photo must be submitted to the park and a digital copy (.jpg, .tif, .png format) must be emailed to RavineGardensStatePark@gmail.com by 4 p.m. on April 30th to qualify.  Contestants must also complete a Photo Release Form upon entry.  The top 3 photographs will receive prizes and all photographs will be displayed at the Friends of Ravine Gardens' 20th Anniversary Celebration on May 16th.  

Additional Information:

Photographs may be in color or black and white.  Photographs may be either vertical or horizontal.  Entry materials will not be returned.

Timucuan Native Americans lived throughout Northeast Florida for several centuries.  They used materials from the natural environment to craft their tools and construct their homes.  Join the Florida Public Archaeology Network at Ravine Gardens State Park to learn how Timucuans used shells, animal bone, stone and more!  This family-oriented workshop includes an interactive presentation and activities.

The Friends of Ravine Gardens invite the community to attend their 20th Anniversary Celebration!  The Friends of Ravine Gardens are a Citizen Support Organization (CSO) that support park projects and sponsor activities that are family friendly, community-minded, and instill a sense of wonder about the amazing history and beauty of our area.  Take a guided hike with Billy Bartram, meet the Miss Florida Azalea Queens, enjoy a wagon tour, do a scavenger hunt and view the beautiful photographs submitted during our April Photo Contest!  Tea, lemonade and water will be provided by the Friends of Ravine Gardens.  Learn how the Friends have been supporting the park for the last 20 years and see how you can become involved!

See our blooming azaleas as you enjoy a guided wagon tour around the beautiful ravine at Ravine Gardens State Park! Learn about the history of the ravine and the park, as well as the plants, animals and ecosystems that make Ravine Gardens a diverse place to visit. There will be two tours, departing at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tours last approximately 30 minutes and will start from the front of the Roy E. Campbell Civic Center. Each tour is limited to 20 participants.
