Join Billy Bartram on a hike through Ravine Gardens!  Enjoy a living history interpretation of William Bartram’s travels and experiences in the 1700’s, while hiking the winding trails of the ravine.  The hike is family-friendly, however, there are some steep inclines on the trail.

Additional Information:

Sturdy shoes and long pants, sunscreen, insect repellant and water are recommended.  The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles long and participants should take caution around roots, rocks, and low branches, which are abundant on the trail.

Air Potato Round-Up for National Public Lands Day @ Ravine Gardens State Park

Volunteers of all ages are invited to participate in an Air Potato Round-Up in conjunction with National Public Lands Day!  National Public Lands Day is the largest single-day volunteer effort to improve public lands in the United States with properties all over the country getting involved to keep our public spaces healthy and beautiful for all to enjoy.  Participants are invited to assist in removing invasive and non-native air potatoes and vines from the park so that together we can maintain our gardens’ natural beauty.  Florida Conservation Corps' members will do a brief interpretive program about the air potato and will then assist volunteers in air potato removal.

Participants will receive a free one-day pass valid for entry to any Florida State Park.

Additional Information:

Gloves, trash bags and tools will be provided. Please bring water, sunscreen, bug repellent and wear closed-toed shoes.

Join Park Rangers and the Santa Fe Audubon Society on a bird walk!  Participants will look and listen for migrating and resident birds while hiking through the ravine.  This is a great opportunity to learn about commonly seen birds and how to identify them by both sight and sound!  Both novice and experienced birders are welcome.

Additional Information:

Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, bug spray, water, and closed-toed shoes.  The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles long and participants should take caution around roots, rocks and low branches, which are abundant on the trail.

Saturday, October 24, 2015 - 8:00am to 11:00am EDT

Entry fees are $15 (under 18) and $20 for adults if paid before October 23rd, 2015.

Race day registration entry fees are $25 per runner.

Regular park entry fees will apply for spectators and visitors.

Join the Friends of Ravine Gardens for their 2nd Annual Costume Run!  The course is completely within Ravine Gardens State Park.  This 3K/6K Fun Run and Walk will be held on the historic scenic drive, a tree-canopied loop following the rim of 120-foot ravines, dipping to the bottom and climbing back up for a truly challenging event.  We will have professional chip timing on this USA Track and Field-certified course.  All registrants will receive a t-shirt and goody bag, which are included in the registration fee.  The race begins at 8 a.m. with an award ceremony to follow.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers.  Also, the top male and female in the following age groups in the 3K and 6K will receive awards: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Participants wearing the top three costumes will also receive prizes!

Post-race refreshments and water will be provided.

Packet pick-up for racers is on Friday, October 23 from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the park office, or on race morning starting at 7 a.m.  Register early to ensure t-shirt size and availability.  Register on our website or in the park office Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  Race day registration will begin at 7 a.m. in the Civic Center lobby.

The Azalea 12/24-Hour Race and new 50-Mile Race will take place in the beautiful Ravine Gardens State Park located in the heart of Palatka, Florida.  You will run on a smooth asphalt 2-mile loop (USA Track and Field-Certified) that includes difficult inclines and declines that will challenge both your physical fitness and mental fortitude.  Runners will start at the highest point then wind their way to the bottom of the ravine.  Along the route you will pass various historical landmarks, including the outdoor amphitheater, Court of States, and other original structures dating back to the 1930's.  You will then make your way back to the top of the ravine to complete one loop.

Additional Information:

12- and 24-Hour options are available.  The 50-mile race will have a 15-hour cut-off.  An Aid Station will be fully stocked with a wide variety of foods, gels and electrolyte drinks.

Brides-to-Be come join us for the Ravine Gardens 2016 Wedding Expo! We will have vendors on site for all wedding related services including dresses, accessories, caterers, bakers, and so much more. Whether you are newly engaged or putting the finishing touches on your big day, our expo is the ideal place to get all of your information and ideas to make your day perfect!

We are currently looking for vendors that provide wedding-related services to take part in the event. There will be vendor sites available in the Roy E. Campbell Civic Center, as well as outside in the Court of States.  The vendor permit fee is $50 for the event, proceeds to benefit the Friends of Ravine Gardens, Inc. This secures a 10 foot area for the duration of the event. Vendors are responsible for their own tables, chairs, tents and displays. Interested vendors must complete an application form prior to the event. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 15, 2016.
