Kid's Fishing Day at Maclay @ Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park

Admission for the event is free with regular park entrance of $6.00 per vehicle (eight person’s maximum occupancy).

This program is designed to introduce children of all ages to fishing through family interaction.  Participants and their families are rotated through different stations. After learning different aspects of freshwater fishing, the participants will fish from the dock. There will be drawings throughout the day for prizes sponsored by local merchants.

Please dress appropriately for a warm morning on the shores of Lake Hall and enjoy this opportunity for family fun and physical activity.

Bring insect repellent, sunscreen and water.

Join our park staff to learn about Ardisia crenata and why it is a threat to native flora and fauna. This program will include hand pulling on site.

Bring your own kayak and gear or use a sit-on-top kayak provided. Learn basic paddling skills and enjoy a short nature tour at Lake Hall.  This event is perfect for beginners.

Children 12 and older must be accompanied by an adult.

Please wear quick-dry clothing (no jeans or cotton), closed-toe shoes and bring sunhat, sunscreen, sunglasses and water.
