Wildlife Park Arts and Crafts Show @ Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will host an Arts & Crafts Show in the Visitor Center on US 19. This indoor exhibit will feature the paintings, photography, jewelry, books and craft items of local artists and crafts persons.  This is a great opportunity to purchase an original work of art, print, book, or craft item for yourself or a friend.

Citrus Watercolor Club Spring Show and Sale @ Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

Saturday, February 20, 2016 - 9:00am EST to Sunday, February 21, 2016 - 4:00pm EST

Citrus Watercolor Club will be holding its annual Spring Art in the Park exhibit and sale in the Visitor Center featuring the artwork of local watercolorists. Originals, prints and cards will be available for purchase. The Citrus Watercolor Club donates 20 percent of sales from the show to the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife park.

A Wildlife Jeopardy program will be held in the Discovery Center on Saturday, February 20, 2016, from noon until 12:30 pm.  This month's program will focus on American alligators and will be presented by Volunteer Barbara Cairns. She uses a 20-question format and invites visitors of all ages to test their knowledge about the American alligator. Handouts will be available.

Wildlife Puppeteers Present "What Animal Am I?" @ Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

The Wildlife Puppeteers will present their new play entitled "What Animal Am I?" in the Discovery Center inside the Park. Learn about the park's animals as the puppets give you clues to each animal's identity.

Monthly Bird Walks on Pepper Creek Trail @ Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

There is no charge to participate in the bird walk. Regular park admission would apply for entrance into the Wildlife Park.

Novice and experienced birders are invited to take a guided bird walk on Pepper Creek Trail. Leaders from Citrus County Audubon take birders on this 3/4 mile bird walk. This leisurely-paced walk is on an accessible (paved) trail that winds through a hydric hammock along Pepper Creek. Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them (not required). Birders can either walk back or take the first return boat of the day. Please call the park office to register: (352) 628-5343.

The Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park presents its annual Spring EGG-stravaganza on the Green near the parking area on US 19. Children are invited to bring their own baskets and participate in one of three Egg Hunts, There will be special prizes for the children who find the silver or golden egg in each group. Costumed characters will be on hand for photos.
