Come learn the basics of geocaching and see how much fun you will have looking for these "hidden treasures". You will learn how to find new geocaches and what to do when you find one. Then you will be led by a Park Ranger to find some of the geocaches that are hidden throughout the park.

Suggested items to bring along are water, sunscreen, insect repellent, smart phone or hand-held GPS.

Join us for a naturalist-guided bird walk and learn about our feathered friends at Fort Cooper State Park. The walk will provide an opportunity to observe a variety of birds in diverse habitats. Program will start at the lake to scope the shoreline and open water at 8:30 a.m. Led by naturalist and member of the National Audobon Society, Dee Bolton. Sponsored by the Friends of Fort Cooper. Please dress for the weather with comfortable walking shoes. Bring water, binoculars and a field guide, if you have one. The monthly walk will be held on the second Thursday of each month: Sep. 13th, Oct. 11th, Nov. 8th, Dec. 13th, Jan. 10th, Feb. 14th, Mar. 14th, Apr. 11th, and May 9th

Come join us for a fun, enjoyable and informative hike for the whole family! The hike will start at the pavilion at 10:00 a.m. and will be led by a Park Ranger. We will walk the Dogwood Trail and visit Coot Marsh, which is approximately a 1 mile hike. You may want to bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, hat or visor, camera and binoculars.

Come join us for a bat presentation at Fort Cooper State Park on Friday, Oct. 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the Rec Hall. Park entrance fee is $3 per car. Shari Blissett-Clark will be our presenter. Refreshments will be served. Wear close-toed shoes for the short walk to our huge bat house at sundown where we'll see the bats leave for their nightly flight and meal.
