Fort Pierce Inlet State Park is known for having one of the best surf breaks in South Florida. Our great surf is due to the reef line lying just outside of the jetty; with incoming and high tides, the waves are at their best and surfers pour in. Because of our impressive waves, the park is home to a wide range of surfing competitions held yearly between September and February.
Surfing lessons are offered through the park's concessionaire, Fort Pierce Outdoor Center who is the provider of camp, surf lessons, kayak, paddle boarding, tours, and bike rentals
Please note: Any person using a surfboard, paddleboard, surfing kayak, or other similar hard, rigid equipment in the Atlantic Ocean within park boundaries, must have such equipment securely tethered to the person utilizing such equipment. The leash must be no longer than 12 feet in length.
