Fishing at Egmont Key

Egmont Key State Park is a secluded island at the mouth of the Tampa Bay and offers a relaxing saltwater fishing experience. The island has designated fishing areas, where sea trout, tarpon, snook, grouper and flounder are often found.

It is important to remember during your fishing experience that all fishing regulations must be followed, including size, number, method of capture and season. A saltwater fishing license may also be required

  • Visitors can visit this historic island 365 days a year, from 8 a.m. until sunset with no fee. 
  • Remember to come prepared with water, food and sunscreen.
  • Due to the remote nature of the island, there is no water or stores available at Egmont Key.
