The Ormond Beach Historical Society (OBHS) and park staff invite you to take a tram ride to an area never-before-open to the public!
This new event takes visitors through the recently excavated Indian mounds called the Tomoka Mound Complex, an area rich in Native American history.
Dr. Jon Endonino, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Anthropology with Eastern Kentucky University will share his site mapping work from previous excavations of these mounds. You don't want to miss this behind the scenes first ever tour of this area. Afterwards, the Friends of Tomoka Basin State Parks will host a picnic (food available for purchase) at the South Picnic Area on the Tomoka River. All food proceeds will benefit the friends group in their efforts to support the Tomoka Basin state parks. So bring out the family and check back for any updates.
