By day, the lake sits quiet and still, a hidden refuge for frogs, fish, turtles and alligators. By night, the wetlands awake with the nocturnal wildlife that call it home. Canoe space is limited. Call the Ranger Station at 813-671-5005 to register, beginning Nov 1st. All skills and abilities welcome. A brief canoe/kayak safety orientation will be provided prior to launch. Each vessel must have at least 1 person 18 years or older. Park canoe requirements and regulations apply. Participants should wear comfortable, close-toed or water shoes, and bring insect repellant, water, and a flashlight or headlamp with red lens.
