Description

Join us on a quest for the perfect campfire, as we celebrate centuries old rituals that bring people together around the fire.

Learn tips for building your next campfire, enjoy a campfire cooking demonstration and roast your own tasty treats. If the fire spirit moves you, join us for a campfire song! There's no better way to stay warm on a cool night in the park after dark! Bring along a blanket or camp chair and grab a seat around the fire! Folding metal chairs will also be provided. Participants may want to bring a drum or musical instrument, insect repellant, water, a flashlight or headlamp (red lens preferred).

Park After Dark Programs will take place in light rain or moonshine. In cases of severe inclement weather, contact the Ranger Station 8am-5pm the day of the program. Inclement weather arrangements & schedule changes will also be posted on the park's Facebook page. Florida State Parks are in various stages of accessibility. For more information on program accessibility, review the Essential Eligibility Criteria for each program posted on the park website. If you need assistance to make your participation possible, please call 813-671-5005 or email kathryn.smithson@dep.state.fl.us. The park will strive to make all reasonable accommodations to provide 'Access for All'. A minimum of 2 weeks may be required to make specific arrangements.

This program is one of the "Park After Dark" series, programs that celebrate the night! Come for one or all, as we explore the park after dark, every 2nd Saturday August-December.
