Free for Volunteers

Come join us on National Public Lands Day as we trim back the vegetation around the rear perimeter of our Sand Pine Scrub Campground. Trimming the vegetation will help secure the fire line that keeps our campground safe in the event of a wildfire.
Due to the high volume of visitors that the park experiences on the weekends, please RSVP to Darrell Thomas, Park Services Specialist, so that we can prepare for your volunteer visit. We will be meeting at the Sand Pine Scrub Campground entrance.
Dress appropriately: wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes, and bring work gloves. Please bring loppers, bug spray, sunscreen and water.

In order to participate in this program, one:
• Must have the ability to follow visual and/or verbal instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
• Must have the ability to traverse uneven terrain for up to one mile independently or with the assistance of a companion, or with the use of adaptive equipment.
• Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors for a period of up to 3 hours.
