September 28th is National Public Lands Day, which promotes the connection between people and the environment by inviting everyone to get outside and North Peninsula State Park is ready to celebrate!

This FREE one-day event will provide the community with information on the benefits of removing non-native invasive plants and planting Florida natives.

Funding through Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council's Kathy Craddock Burks Education Grant made this event possible. All participants will receive a native Yaupon Holly plant and will have educational opportunities through exhibits from these organizations:

Yaupon Brothers The state park's very own "Pepper Picker" volunteers will demonstrate how they remove invasive Brazilian pepper from the park and will be available for questions.

Park volunteers will offer short kayak tours of the Smith Creek marsh restoration site. There will also be a children's activity area!
