This event is free!

Come celebrate National Public Lands Day at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park by participating in one of our three projects:

  1. Garden Crew – Help keep the historic gardens looking grand while learning about one of Tallahassee's cultural gems.
  2. Exotics Crew – Learn about the many exotic plants invading our state parks while helping to mitigate their impact on Florida's native plants and wildlife.
  3. Trail Crew – See, experience, and help maintain portions of Maclay Garden's trail system that allow for bikers, walkers and nature enthusiasts to enjoy Florida's delicate ecosystems and exciting wildlife.

Participation will be outside so bring water bottles, bug spray, sunscreen, hats, clothes that can get dirty and gloves (if you have them).

Afterward, a light lunch will be provided, courtesy of Friends of Maclay Gardens. Then take time to check out the rest of the park, including the swimming area in Lake Hall.
