All volunteers are welcome at no cost!

Celebrate National Public Lands Day by helping to remove an old fence near the park entrance.

The fence was once a park boundary fence but is now just another hurdle that prevents us from easily applying fire as a resource management tool. Volunteers who join will learn more about the prescribed fire process, and get hands-on experience working in state parks.

  • Volunteers should bring a canteen or something to hold drinking water in, a pair of gloves, and a pair of safety glasses or sunglasses. Sun protection is also advised.
  • After we finish, join us for lunch put on by our Citizen Support Organization (CSO). Burgers, chips and sodas will be available - cash donations to our CSO are appreciated but not necessary.
