September 21, 2019 is International Coastal Cleanup Day!
Long Key State Park invites you to join our monthly shoreline cleanup. This cleanup will take place along the main day use area of the park, heading down towards the west end.
Every day we receive two high tides, and with each of these tides marine debris follows. Our shoreline has a large wrack line, which is where most of the debris is. Please come prepared to get your feet wet and walk through the wrack line. Wear shoes you do not mind getting wet or dirty. Please bring a reusable water bottle. No single use water bottles please. A hat and sunscreen is also recommended. Staff will provide water for refills, garbage bags and gloves. Garbage pickers might be available, depending on the turnout.
