Celebrate the 85th anniversary of Florida State Parks at Perdido Key, which became a state park 40 years ago! Join a park ranger for a guided leisurely walk on the beach. Along the way, park staff will discuss nesting sea turtles and shorebirds as well as native plants. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, camera, sunscreen and bug spray. The 1-mile round-trip hike is moderately difficult due to the loose and shifting sugar sand. The walk is accessible for a beach wheelchair; call the Big Lagoon Ranger Station to request use of the wheelchair the day before the event. Event will be held rain or shine.
