Come visit our Junior Ranger table on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Learn how to become a Junior Ranger and join us for lots of cool nature activities! Children can complete the Junior Ranger CORE activities, collect passport stamps, and earn an official Junior Ranger badge, patch, or pin! Junior Ranger activities are appropriate for children aged 6 and up, but we will also have critter coloring pages and puzzles available for all ages. No reservation required. Meet us inside the Visitor Center located within the main park entrance, off US 441 in Micanopy.

Come and discover what life was like at the turn of the century in the Florida "piney woods." The cracker homestead is a replica of a 19th century pioneer settlement. This collection of buildings represents a small "Cracker'' settlement dating to the 1890s. A typical homestead of the time would have included a cabin and outbuildings such as a barn, pantry, smokehouse, and outhouse. Schoolhouses, churches, and blacksmith shops would have been found in settlements that homesteaders visited to attend social gatherings and barter for supplies. During the tour, these buildings will be open and unlocked and on most tours the blacksmith's forge will be fired up. Meet at the Cracker Village across from the Silver River museum.

Enter the park through the camping & museum entrance, 1425 NE 58th Avenue, (also known as State Road 35 or Baseline Rd.) to access the Silver River Museum.

Musicians gather to play in remembrance of James Gamble Rogers IV, a renowned Florida folk singer, entertainer and storyteller whom our park is named after. Musicians of all levels are encouraged to bring instruments and a chair and participate in a casual acoustic jam session.

Instruments of all types are welcome but no power is available at the pavilion. Meet other musicians, practice or just have fun listening! Join us in a picnic pavilion in the river side area of the park.
