Single kayak $30/Tandem kayak $40. Cash only. Fee includes, park entrance, watercraft rental, life jacket, paddle, and a donation to the Friends of Camp Helen State Park.
Join Camp Helen State Park for a leisurely 90-minute paddle on Lake Powell, one of the world's largest Coastal Dune Lakes. Learn about the history, natural communities and wildlife that make this Outstanding Florida Water so unique and important. This guided kayak tour will be enjoyable for individuals, families and groups. All levels of experience are welcome. Space is limited. Advanced reservations are required to participate and can be done by calling Camp Helen State Park 24 hours prior to tour at (850) 233-5059. Watercraft and gear from outside the park are not permitted. Be sure to bring sun protection and drinking water. Program is weather dependent. Please check the forecast prior to arrival. If there is a chance of inclement weather on program day, call the Park for further information. As with all water sports, there is a chance of getting wet so dress appropriately. Please help us keep the trip on schedule by being on time and bring everything that you need with you to the Visitor Center.

Boondoggle Class: Weaving With Palm Fronds @ Dade Battlefield Historic State ParkThursday, July 26, 2018 - 10:00am to 1:00pm EDT
$3 per vehicle park entrance fee plus $5 class fee. Children 12 and under pay no class fee.
Join park staff and volunteers in learning how to weave native cabbage palm and saw palmetto fronds into traditional pioneer crafts.

In order to participate in this program, one:
• Must have the ability to withstand exposure to an enclosed air conditioned and/or heated building for up to 3 hours during the day.
• Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors for up to 3 hours.
• Must have the ability to work seated at a banquet and/or picnic table, independently or with the assistance of a companion.
• Must have the ability to follow visual and/or verbal instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
• Must be able to work with natural materials (e.g. palm/palmetto fronds) with assistance provided as desired.

Yoga And Meditation At The Prairie @ Paynes Prairie Preserve State ParkThursday, July 26, 2018 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm EDT
Free with park admission ($4/single occupant vehicle or $6/vehicle with 2-8 people or $2 if you ride in on your bike!)
Join us at 6:00 PM in the visitor center for a gentle yoga class, open to all levels of experience. If you have a mat or blanket, please bring one with you
This program is supported by the Friends of Paynes Prairie. If you would like to make a donation to support the yoga program at the prairie, a donation box will be available during the class. Donations made at class go directly to the support of this program so that we can keep it free and open to all people of all financial situations.
