Take a 90-minute paddle around one of the islands that comprise Curry Hammock State Park. This ranger-led tour will give you an appreciation for the fragility of the nearshore ecosystem. You will see some of the damage man has caused and learn of the ongoing effort to preserve this valuable resource.
Tours are limited to six kayaks. Visitors should bring their own or rent from the park.

Join us in discovering the wonderful sea turtles of Anastasia State Park! You will learn about how we identify the turtle nests, hatching, and the great journey they begin after leaving the beach and the dangers they encounter in our oceans. This is a fun filled, energetic program about these miraculous animals who have been on Earth for millions of years!
This program will take place at the Sea Turtle Pavilion near the Island Beach Grill.

Event is free. Donations are accepted and will go directly to the Friends of Camp Helen State Park to be used to benefit the parks resource management, projects and interpretative programs.

The Friends of Camp Helen State Park and Camp Helen Park staff, invite the whole family to the fifth annual Movies & More series, for an evening filled with movies, food & fun. The event starts at 5:30 pm and will begin with an interpretative program, followed by a campfire cookout, including hotdogs, s’mores and drinks, and will end with a movie sure to be enjoyed by all. The event will be held at the parks Recreation Hall, where seating will be provided.
June 13th “The Little Mermaid” (rated G) – National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration will be presenting a marine touch tank and interpreting local sea life.
June 27th “A Bug’s Life” (rated G) – Bay County Mosquito Control will be presenting insects and a bug-cational activity for the kids.
July 11th “Madagascar” (rated PG) – Gulf World will be presenting an exciting animal ambassador and interpreting the animal’s biology and ecology.
July 25th “Fern Gully-the last rainforest” (rated G) – A Camp Helen Park Ranger will facilitate an educational activity and interpretive program on the Florida Black Bear.
