Welcome to the NEW Camp Wildlife led by Cape Leisure at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park! This year's summer camp is better than ever! We're now offering five full days of fun-filled camp with plenty to see and do, including, special animal experiences, animal meal preparation, wildlife hospital and manatee rehabilitation facility tours, hand-on activities, crafts and more. This event includes camp t-shirts, lunch, water and snacks. Two camp sessions will be held from 9 am to 5 pm: June 18-22 for 8-10 year olds and July 16-20 for 11-12 year olds. Registration is required. Join us at Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park for interactive kid's activities! From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. children can complete the Junior Ranger CORE activities, collect passport stamps and earn an official Junior Ranger badge, patch or pin! Junior Ranger activities are appropriate for children aged 6 and up, but we will also have critter coloring pages available for all ages as well as an EnviroScape demonstration that teaches kids how watersheds work and what we can do to protect our precious water and springs.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and the Florida Forest Service on July 20, 2018 from 10:00a.m. - 11:00a.m. Come learn about Prescribed Fires and how they help the forest. This program is free with regular park admission. Topsail Talks is a monthly educational discovery series with presentations from organizations and government agencies from outside the park held on the third Friday of the month at 10am. Future dates and topics are "Native American history of the Florida Panhandle" by the Indian Temple Mound Museum on August 17 , "Microplastics and Plastic Pollution" by Dr. Laura Tiu with Florida Sea Grant on September 21 and "Coastal Dune Lakes" by the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance on October 19.
