Estuary Exploration: 2018 Science Discovery Summer Camp @ Crystal River Preserve State Park

Thursday, July 12, 2018 - 8:30am to 2:30pm EDT

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, opening April 30th  and closing June 22nd, 2018. Tuition is $85 per camper. There is no entry fee to the park. Limited space available - fill out an application form and submit with the tuition fee by June 15th, 2018.  Contact Jamie Letendre for application form and any questions.

The 2018 Summer Camp Program, Estuary Exploration: A Science Discovery Summer Camp, will be running 5 days from July 9th - July 13th for children ages 8-11. Campers will learn how to appreciate and understand nature, take an active role in conservation and relate to how ancient people lived along Florida's Gulf coast. Camp activities are conducted by professional archaeologists and biologists, park staff and volunteers and allow kids to experience archaeology and biology first-hand through activities, experiments and hikes.

You will learn about how we identify the turtle nests, hatching, and the great journey they begin after leaving the beach and the dangers they encounter in our oceans. This is a fun filled, energetic program about these miraculous animals who have been on Earth for millions of years!
This program will take place at the Sea Turtle Pavilion near the Island Beach Grill.

Yoga And Meditation At The Prairie @ Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

Join us at 6:00 PM in the visitor center for a gentle yoga class, open to all levels of experience. If you have a mat or blanket, please bring one with you.

This program is supported by the Friends of Paynes Prairie. If you would like to make a donation to support the yoga program at the prairie, a donation box will be available during the class. Donations made at class go directly to the support of this program so that we can keep it free and open to all people of all financial situations.
