Morning Beach Exploratory Walk @ Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach

Join our volunteer Master Naturalist Dale Grussing on a beach walk. You will learn about the natural beach ecosystem including native plant and animal species, nesting sea turtles, geology of the park, waves, currents, and rip tides. This tour combines morning exercise with an educational eco tour. All ages are welcome and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Walking shoes and appropriate dress, sunscreen, and drinking water are recommended. Participants should be able to walk in sand and uneven terrain on the beach. Special accommodations are available upon request prior to the event. This event is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. We will be meeting at the beachside pavilion located on the east side of the park. Program is free with park admission!

Welcome to "Dirty Fridays" at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park! Here is a wonderful, low-key volunteer opportunity to get a little dirty on the First Friday of every month while helping to beautify the park grounds! Projects include working in the butterfly garden, driveway medians and other fun landscape features that make Topsail one of a kind! Bring some water, gloves, insect repellent and a lunch to enjoy afterwards! Garden groups are always welcome to share in the fun!

Join us at Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park for interactive kid's activities! From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. children can complete the Junior Ranger CORE activities, collect passport stamps and earn an official Junior Ranger badge, patch or pin! Junior Ranger activities are appropriate for children aged 6 and up, but we will also have critter coloring pages available for all ages as well as an EnviroScape demonstration that teaches kids how watersheds work and what we can do to protect our precious water and springs.

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association (NWFASTRO) for an evening of viewing the sun, moon and stars through telescopes on July 6, 2018 from 4:30p.m. - 9:30p.m. Solar telescopes will be out until the sun sets for you to safely view the sun. Then the astronomy association will switch telescopes and assist you in viewing any constellations, planets and other celestial objects that are visible.  This program is weather dependent, and a decision is made by 3:00pm the day of the program as to whether the program can occur. Please call the ranger station before heading out for the program. Participants need to be in the park before the gate closes at sunset. Event is free with regular park admission. Future date for Topsail Under the Stars is Oct 13, 2018 from 3:00 -9:00p.m.

Sea Turtle Talk And Walk Registration @ John D. MacArthur Beach State Park

Each June and July MacArthur Beach State Park offers evening turtle walks so that visitors can have a chance at viewing loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs. This ancient ritual is a sight not to be missed! Turtle Walks fill up quickly so be sure to register early. The Walk schedule starts on June 4, 2018 and runs through July 13, 2018 (M, W, & F with the exception of June 8, 22 and July 4). Registration launches on May 29 at 9 a.m. Registration will be online and sold as "tickets" through www.macarthurbeach.org Price is $12.00 per ticket, non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Park staff. The event is for adults and children 12 years old and up.
