Eco Adventure Days is a fun and educational way for your child to discover the amazing diversity of Florida’s natural resources. Campers will learn about the diverse habitats of Ravine Gardens State Park, conduct scientific experiments in a fun environment, and even work on projects at the park like a real park ranger! This three day event will be filled with learning objectives and corresponding activities, games, and crafts!

We are happy to announce that this year we will be providing camp for a variety of age groups! We will hold three camp sessions, each catering to a different age group.
- Completing Kindergarten - 1st Grades - Wednesday, June 13 - Friday June 15, 2018
- Completing 2nd - 5th Grades - Wednesday, June 27 - Friday, June 29, 2018
- Completing 6th - 8th Grades - Wednesday, July 11 - Friday, July 13, 2018
When registering, please select the correct session based on the grade that your child will be completing/completed during the 2017/2018 school year.
For all sessions: Drop-off starts at 7:30 a.m. with camp starting at 8:00am. Pick-up will be at 2:00 p.m.
The summer camp is $30 per child per session. This includes all activities and instruction for the week, as well as snacks. Campers will need to provide their own lunch. Camp fees benefit the Friends of Ravine Gardens, who supply all of the materials for the summer camp.
All parents/guardians must complete a registration packet for each child attending. It will be sent to the email address you provide while purchasing your ticket. Please complete and email it back to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax it to the office at 386-329-3718. You can register in person or drop packets off at 1600 Twigg St. Palatka, Florida 32177 Tuesday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Please call 386-329-3721 with any questions.
The camp is limited to 30 students and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If the camp is sold out please call the office at 386-329-3721 to be put on the waitlist.
Three scholarships per camp session will be awarded to those that show need. Please email email@example.com if you would like to request a scholarship. Please include parent's name, contact information, camper's name, grade that he or she is finishing and a short paragraph explaining why you would like the scholarship. Scholarship requests will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. All scholarship requests must be submitted by 4:00pm the Friday prior to the camp session's start date:
- K-1st Grade due June 8, 2018 at 4:00pm
- 2nd - 5th Grade due June 22, 2018 at 4:00pm
- 6th - 8th Grade due July 6, 2018 at 4:00pm
After the due date, the three spots saved for scholarship winners will be opened to those on the waitlist if not awarded.

Kayak Tour @ Curry Hammock State ParkWednesday, June 27, 2018 - 8:00am to 12:00pm EDT
Single Kayak Rental: $17.20
Double Kayak Rental: $21.50
Take a 90-minute paddle around one of the islands that comprise Curry Hammock State Park. This ranger-led tour will give you an appreciation for the fragility of the nearshore ecosystem. You will see some of the damage man has caused and learn of the ongoing effort to preserve this valuable resource.
Tours are limited to six kayaks. Visitors should bring their own or rent from the park.
Registration is recommended.
Guided Nature Walk @ John D. MacArthur Beach State ParkWednesday, June 27, 2018 - 10:00am to 11:30am EDT

Join us for a guided exploration of MacArthur Beach State Park daily at 10:00 a.m. Meet in front of the Park's Nature Center.

Event is free. Donations are accepted and will go directly to the Friends of Camp Helen State Park to be used to benefit the parks resource management, projects and interpretative programs.

The Friends of Camp Helen State Park and Camp Helen Park staff, invite the whole family to the fifth annual Movies & More series, for an evening filled with movies, food & fun. The event starts at 5:30 pm and will begin with an interpretative program, followed by a campfire cookout, including hotdogs, s’mores and drinks, and will end with a movie sure to be enjoyed by all. The event will be held at the parks Recreation Hall, where seating will be provided.
June 13th “The Little Mermaid” (rated G) – National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration will be presenting a marine touch tank and interpreting local sea life.
June 27th “A Bug’s Life” (rated G) – Bay County Mosquito Control will be presenting insects and a bug-cational activity for the kids.
July 11th “Madagascar” (rated PG) – Gulf World will be presenting an exciting animal ambassador and interpreting the animal’s biology and ecology.
July 25th “Fern Gully-the last rainforest” (rated G) – A Camp Helen Park Ranger will facilitate an educational activity and interpretive program on the Florida Black Bear.
Sea Turtle Talk And Walk Registration @ John D. MacArthur Beach State ParkWednesday, June 27, 2018 - 8:00pm EDT to Thursday, June 28, 2018 - 12:00am EDT

Each June and July MacArthur Beach State Park offers evening turtle walks so that visitors can have a chance at viewing loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs. This ancient ritual is a sight not to be missed! Turtle Walks fill up quickly so be sure to register early. The Walk schedule starts on June 4, 2018 and runs through July 13, 2018 (M, W, & F with the exception of June 8, 22 and July 4). Registration launches on May 29 at 9 a.m. Registration will be online and sold as "tickets" through www.macarthurbeach.org Price is $12.00 per ticket, non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Park staff. The event is for adults and children 12 years old and up.
