Workday In The Fort @ Fort Clinch State Park

Join us as a volunteer on Saturday, June 16th from 9 am to 4 pm for a workday in the fort, held by fort staff along with members of 7th Florida. Jobs will include making boxes, stenciling powder kegs and painting cannons and cannon balls. These props will help to tell the story of Fort Clinch, we appreciate all help.

--In 1740, the citizens of Fort Mose launched an attack on British troops in the fort's ruins..--

In the predawn hours of June 26, 1740, Governor Montiano ordered a surprise attack launched under the command of Captain Salgado against General Oglethorpe's elite British troops who were encamped in the ruins of Fort Mose. Participants will watch battle re-enactments, historical demonstrations, and performances. The event is free. To enter the visitor center the fee is $2 per adult and children under six are free.

Come visit our Junior Ranger table on Saturday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Learn how to become a Junior Ranger and join us for lots of cool nature activities! Children can complete the Junior Ranger CORE activities, collect passport stamps, and earn an official Junior Ranger badge, patch, or pin! Junior Ranger activities are appropriate for children aged 6 and up, but we will also have critter coloring pages and puzzles available for all ages.

No reservation required. Meet us inside the Visitor Center located within the main park entrance, off US 441 in Micanopy.

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for a Kids Fishing Workshop.  Kids along with their parents will work their way through fun, interactive stations that allow them to learn about fish, ways to fish, places to fish, how to fish and how to minimize any negative impact on the environment while fishing.  The first 200 kids to check in will receive their own mini tackle set.  Make sure to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and wear appropriate clothing.

A two-hour workshop designed to inform anglers of the challenges of Summer Time Surf Fishing. Anglers will learn the best tides to fish, surf conditions for best results, keeping your baits on the hooks, times to fish, rods/reels and fishing tackle to use during the summer months.  Anglers should bring a pen/pencil and something to write on.  Meet at the Sebastian Fishing Museum.
