Explore some of the prime birding areas of Lovers Key State Park with a Park Ranger, and learn how to identify the birds you see. You will also get tips on other places in the park where you might find some great birding. Feel free to bring your own binoculars or camera. We also have a limited number of binoculars available. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

Join the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association on May 18, 2018 from 4:30pm- 10:00pm and view the beauty of the universe. They will start by setting up solar telescopes at 4:30 pm to safely observe our closest star, the Sun. Once the sun sets, they will transition to night time observing. Objects visible will depend on the season and time of night and normally include bright galaxies, star clusters and planets. Event is weather permitting, please call Henderson Beach State Park at 850-837-7550 the day of the event for further information. Event is free with paid park entrance fees . Entrance fees are as follows: $6.00 per vehicle 2-8 people, $4.00 for individual entrance. All participants must arrive prior to sunset, which occurs at 8:00pm.

We'll meet at the CSO headquarters (12720 NW 109th Lane, Alachua, FL 32615) at 7:15 p.m. and hit the trail around 7:30 p.m. The ride is FREE for Friends of San Felasco members - become a member now (http://www.sanfelasco.org/join/) or sign up in person before the ride. Non-members are welcome to join the ride for a $10 fee. Helmets and lights are mandatory for the ride. We recommend two lights, one for your bike and one for your helmet, and enough battery power to last two hours.
