Take a 90-minute paddle around one of the islands that comprise Curry Hammock State Park. This ranger-led tour will give you an appreciation for the fragility of the nearshore ecosystem. You will see some of the damage man has caused and learn of the ongoing effort to preserve this valuable resource.
Additional Information:
Tours are limited to six kayaks. Visitors should bring their own or rent from the park.
Registration is recommended.
Guided Paddle (Or Walk) @ Oscar Scherer State Park

Paddle along South Creek and learn about the park and the estuarine critters. Please register between 8:00am and 8:45am at the Ranger Station. May bring own vessel or rent one from the Ranger Station. Some paddling experience recommended as it is a group tour.
Note: South Creek is a tidal water, therefore if water is too shallow for a paddle, a walk will be offered instead.

Experience a new perspective of the Old Spanish Quarries at Anastasia State Park in relation to the famous Castillo de San Marcos, and the survival of Saint Augustine. This informative program with a fun and knowledgeable ranger will bring the history of the quarry to life, as you learn about the amazing work that occurred in the Old Spanish Quarries and the architecture that influenced the history of Saint Augustine. After checking in at the Ranger Station, please meet for the program in the quarry parking area by the front entrance gate. This event is weather permitting and subject to cancellation.

Meet at the picnic pavilion next door to the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse. Join a Park Ranger to learn about the park’s coastal plants, animals, and a little local history too. The walk is approximately one-third mile and lasts about one hour. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, sunscreen and drinking water are recommended. All programs are weather dependent.
