Join park staff for a guided 4 mile paddle.

We stop 3 to 5 times to talk about the plants, animals, the park, and Seminole Indians history of the area.

Ages 12 and up.

$30 per person, (2 people per canoe), plus park entry fee of $5.00 up to 8 people in your car or $4.00 for a single occupant.

Registration is required.

Canoe, life jackets, whistles and paddles are provided.

Wear: Comfortable clothing, your shoes could get wet.

Bring: Water, bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses, dry bag, hat and a light jacket.

There is no place to get out of the canoe once the trip starts, so a restroom stop is wise just before the trip. A restroom is located in the picnic area in the boat basin.

9:00 am - Meet at the Ranger Station to make payment and then proceed to the boat basin/canoe launch area.

9:15 am – Be at the boat basin/canoe launch for introduction and review of paddling strokes and safety tips.

9:30 am – Canoe Trip starts.

12:30 pm - Canoe Trip ends.

Join Carol Dickson for an opportunity to create a work of art. Each month a different technique will be used. Class includes all materials needed. Regular park admission applies and is paid at ranger station on the day of class.  All classes need a minimum of 5 participants to occur. Classes are limited to 10 participants. Join us for a Guided Walking Tour of the Historic Koreshan Settlement. Explore structures and gardens of the 19th century utopian settlement and learn about these idealistic pioneers. The walking tour is about an hour and a half and is accessible to all.

Additional Information:

Park admission is $2 for bicycle/pedestrian, $4 for one person in a vehicle, $5 for up to 8 persons in a vehicle. Walking tour lasts approximately 1 hour and is mostly outdoors on a crushed shell path. Please bring water, proper footware, and sun protection. Wheelchair available upon request.

Requests for these and other tours for clubs, home school associations, and other groups can be made by calling the Ranger Station at (239) 992-0311. We make every effort to accommodate all groups, however we may not be able to fulfill requests made with less than a two week notice.

Movie Night @ Oscar Scherer State Park

Manatee Springs State Park will be holding the 2nd annual “Spring into the Springs” Event. “Spring into the Springs” is a day to learn about one of Florida’s First Magnitude Springs. There will be Interpretive Wagon Rides of the North Trail, Prescribed Fire Program, Springs Question and Answer Program, Springs Walk n Talk, and Booths by Organizations Involved in Springs Protection. Visitors will leave with a greater understanding of the delicate balance of a North Florida Springs System. The Event will begin at 9:00am and go till 4:00pm with a Film Festival to follow from 6:30pm till 8:30pm. The Film Festival will have Guest Speakers showing and explaining the complexities of North Florida Springs Systems. This is an all age event and is included in the price of the daily admission. All activities have ADA accessible options, please ask for assistance at the Friends of Manatee Springs Booth.
